“Shokolodanitsa” Café in Moscow

Interior Design of “Shokolodanitsa” Café in Moscow, Russia

Address: Moscow, Russia
Area: 170.0 m²
Project year: 2010

Design is implemented within the frames of the Best Interior Design Contest for "Shokoladnitsa" Café in Moscow, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the café chain.

The concept of the project is based on the principles of volume distortion and creation of an abstract visual image (silhouette) in the plane of the picture. The principles of visual distortion or transformation of the space constructed by optical effects (spatial displacement, evaporation, fusion forms) are found in the works of Maurits Escher, Victor Vasarely, and many other artists of the 20th century. They reveal psychological characteristics of human perception of complex three-dimensional objects.

This trend is also reflected in the architecture and is an inexhaustible source of ideas for creation of new images. The interior is developed in chocolate-coffee-milk tones with the use of bright, spectral colors and shades of wild berries: purple, lilac, cherry, raspberry, orange, bordo. Use of bright colors meets technical requirements of the competition. Solutions with bright colors are architectural characteristics of northern cities, including Moscow. Gloomy weather ten months a year, dirty snow, slush, asphalt and buildings in different shades of gray combined with everyday routine and always being late crowd, contribute to the accumulation of negative emotions.

We believe, that bright, lively and light decoration of the interior, comfortable furniture and soft lighting create positive atmosphere in the café  and help visitors to have a pleasant leisure time.

Interior is designed of wear-resistant and durable materials. Flooring is made with decorative liquid polymer technologies. Decoration of the walls is possible to perform with the screen-painting washable latex paint. It is also possible to use modern methods of printing.
