"ITHAKA - Architecture and Design" studio was founded in 1990.
For the period from 1991 to 1999 the studio was mainly engaged in the restoration, construction and archaeological works in the Republic of Armenia. The studio has carried out various projects on the restoration and conservation of architectural monuments (Khor Virap monastery [4-17 centuries], Etchmiadzin cathedral monastery complex [4-20 centuries], St. Hripsime church [7th century], Saghmosavank monastery [4-13 centuries], Kecharis monastery [10-13 centuries], Churches of Lake Sevan Peninsula [9-10 centuries] etc.).
Since 2004 the company expanded the scope and field of its activities and was actively designing for private and commercial sectors, both in the Republic of Armenia and Russian Federation.
For more than 20 years, the studio completed over 100 projects in Yerevan, various regions of Armenia, in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Anapa, Minsk, Cairo, Denver, etc.
Many completed projects, such as interior architecture of Moscow School of Management "SKOLKOVO" (interiors of the hotel, the hostel, the faculty club, the cottage community for professors and lecturers, deans house), Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Belarus, residence of the Ministry of Defense of RF in Krasnodar region, numerous private houses, apartments and mansions have turned into the hallmarks of the studio.
At the international festival "Zodchestvo 2009" in Moscow, "Ithaka - Architecture and Design" studio was awarded the bronze diploma in the nomination "Creative groups and studios”.
In October 2011 the project of the mansion in Dzoraghbiur (Armenia) was awarded the Second-degree diploma of the Union of Architects of Russia.
In 2011 the studio took part in two major architectural events of the year:
The World Architecture Festival in Barcelona (WAF 2011);
The World Congress of International Union of Architects in Tokyo.
At the World Architecture Festival in Barcelona the conceptual project "Zodchestvo House" (graphic abstractionism in architecture) was shortlisted as a nominated project.
In November 2011 at the International Architecture Biennale in Yerevan the studio was awarded the First-degree diploma for the architectural project of the Banquet Hall interior of Aragvi restaurant in Moscow.
