(Theomorphism/ Anthropomorphism)
This project was inspired by and built upon conceptual ideas of the form of God with Certain anthropomorphic qualities. The architectural form comprises symbolic content along with great emotional power, so the question became to be: Should the form be Theomorphic or Anthropomorphic?!!
Through the history of human kind, God has been represented in many anthropomorphically ways, we were interested in architecture that argues a new way of representing God!
The architecture of the Cathedral of our lady of Los Angeles is a result of series of forces that collide to produce monumental spaces. The form interacts with Light, shade, Catholic rituals (procession) and movement to establish unique views as one move through its spaces.
