ETC New York

Design and execution of New York offices of ETC were completed through a unique collaborative process between owner, architect, and contractor.  The owner and architects collaborated all through the design process to create a cohesive project.  During construction, the owner fabricated a large percentage of the lobby, training, and demonstration room fixtures and finishes in their own factory in Wisconsin and shipped them to New York for installation.  The contractor worked with their subcontractors and the owners and architects to ensure that construction was completed accurately and on schedule.

The renovation doubles the size of the existing space to improve the productivity and layout of the New York City flagship office, in the land marked Film Center Building. The public interior spaces were inspired by the building’s Art Deco lobby.  Within those Art Deco details can be found many subtle nods to theatrical lighting and to the history of ETC. The main diamond-shaped lobby ceiling feature is an abstraction of ETC’s original logo. The open workstations, on the private, employees-only side of the space, are defined by the large V-shaped “chevron wall” made of etched glass in the pattern of ETC’s current logo.
