Hecho Inc. is a design and construction firm based in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn. We chose our name, which means ‘made’ in Spanish, because we wholeheartedly believe that ideas need to be made, not just talked about. Founded in 2004, we are responsible for the construction, development, and launch of over ninety-five bars and restaurants in New York City. We have developed a reputation for a bold and exceptional blend of design, function, and fabrication, producing spaces that exude a singular style and offer something new with every visit.

We choose reclaimed materials, furniture, lights and various rediscovered items for the stories that they tell. We see an inherent value and quality in these items, and our appreciation for their condition allows us to preserve the history they exude. Layering these materials of disparate origins creates a wealth of contrasting color and texture, striking a balance between the old and the new.

Exploring the play between the former and renewed life of a given material creates a conceptually rich experience that at once feels familiar and foreign. As our design process relies heavily on the unpredictable, the results maintain an element of surprise, ensuring a stimulating and memorable experience that invites guests to interact with their surroundings in new and unexpected ways.
