Placed on site as a way to experience a pristine environment, the cabanas are composed of two primary elements, an interior volume and protective skins that are slipped past one another. Louvers and siding of natural, weathered wood come together in intricate ways and the connections and varied orientations give life and texture to the rustic material. Each cabana is oriented so that the protective screen won't obscure views. Intended to be self-sufficient, and minimally impact the landscape, the structures are solidly constructed and supported by 6 small piers that allow the sand and landscape to flow around and beneath with minimal disruption.
