Centre to the design of L’Oculto is a bespoke wine rack, displaying and storing the tapas restaurant’s impressive list of organic and artisan wine.
Building on the success of their first restaurant, we were approached by L’Oculto to design the fit-out of their second premises - a tapas restaurant in South London. A hierarchy was established for the layout of the restaurant. The c-shape wine rack faces the bar in the centre of the restaurant, creating a semi-enclosed area separated from the main dining space, ideal for wine and cheese tastings to take place. Tucked behind the wine rack, next to the open-kitchen is an intimate space for larger groups which gives the feeling of private dining, without the need for a separate room. The interior design features a harmonious material palette, balancing organic and rustic finishes with new elements to lend relaxed modernity to the space.
