Metropolitan Apartment

We had two empty 3BHK apartments combining a size of 2500 Sq.ft area at disposal which gave us the luxury of merging the two to create a large Living room with formal & informal seating zones, a kitchen, a dining area, a study, four bedrooms and a neatly tucked bar.

We handled everything, from the scratch to the interior design for the client, who wanted a neat, modern home. We were given a free hand, which pushed us to be more creative. Our main idea was to work on the details to create a unique living space. This detailing is the standout feature of the house, beginning from the entrance. In the short entryway, a panelled wooden ceiling draws attention, running along the kitchen wall, wrapping around its white decor and concealing a shoe rack and an electric distribution board. A colour palette of grey, white and brown runs throughout the house, with bright colour in each room, we introduced tinges of blue in the furniture, painting and accessories to enhance the look. It has been designed as the focal point of the house, leading to the other personal spaces.

The informal seating area sits alongside the bar and dining area, which is divided by 4ft high partition which serves as a shoe rack as well. The bar shares a common wall with the study room which is designed as a multipurpose room for work and play. The glass partition in the room maintains a sense of connectivity with the living room. A broad white marble wall runs along the passage by the study leading to two bedrooms. In each of four bedrooms we have experimented with colours and textures complimented with modern furniture and warm ambience.

Each room tells the story about the inhabitants personality. The master bedroom is the largest in the house has been created by combining two regular sized bedrooms. Textured wallpaper lines the wall behind the bed, with back painted glass and vertical grid patterns on the sides which hides the dressing storage space and the bedroom door. The wardrobes lined with white pu coating conceals the bathroom door a method that we frequently use to enhance the size of the area. The children rooms are made youthful with the use of accessories and colours, while the girls room incorporates a huge dressing mirror with storage area and diagonal glass patterns and their daughters portrait on the wall all in tones of purple. The boys room has superhero theme on the wardrobe and a play of letters on the toilet wall, an unfinished cement feature wall and white bricks on the sides are created behind the bed backing wall. Seeing the amount of natural light flowing in the house we have decided to keep the lighting simple and straight forward except for spotlights to highlight design elements.
To sum it up we have bought architectural details into ply for the interiors of this intricately designed apartment.
