AutoCAD/Revit camps, seminars, etc

architerp

Every once in a while the firm receives notices on upcoming boot camps, cad camps, universities, seminars, etc for Revit and AutoCAD. The price is typically costly, not to mention sending production staff out of office all day.

We received an email from the local autodesk rep about a camp that contains 4 classes, new product info, and lunch for $200. But only half of the classes offered even seem worth it.

I was sent to these things twice as an intern. One was good with a great instructor, good setting, the other was just the opposite.

Does anyone regularly go to these? What is your experience - good or bad? Do you see a ROI when your staff returns?

I agree that in terms of schedule and have to commute somewhere else is not so convenient, not even mentioning the cost. I think adesk should then just sell an online pass to those interested, so you can access those periodic from home etc.
