Photoshop CS5 - Content Aware Fill.

Architecture_Charlatan

This looks like it could save a huge amount of time for polishing up those images.

Hopefully it really does work like that.

Interesting. I notice the demo doesn't deselect after performing a content fill delete in the final two 'wow!' examples (the desert road and the image stitch). That is, the marquee remains as a delineation between the original image and the new content aware areas.

if you've ever clone stamped around a marquee you know how great something looks until you deselect and see the bright seam. I wish they'd have deselected in those examples and until then I'm going to remain skeptical of just how smart this tool is.

it seems almost too good to be true (probably is! as paranoid mentioned, the annoying seam potential seems likely). however, even in those demos, where you can identify the existing source for the new fill areas, it still looked pretty good.

and i was excited about the clone stamp preview in cs4.

But how much will it cost and what wonderful changes will they make to the icons?
