i suppose that's better than "hungry and ashamed - find me a job!"

Why don't you invest some time in developing new skills or expand what you know.

Get your materials for the ARE.
or
Learn Digital Project.

etc
etc.

Any other recommendations for our dear Aquilla?

I actually didn't say it as if it were a meal ticket. I said it as one possible example of something to do if one had the time.

Given your keen sense of practicality, you might have realized that the intention was to keep our friend Aquilla positively distracted.
Perhaps you should go learn it too.

Nun,
don't sit around and get bored, time will fly by and then you will look back and ask yourself what you did in the past few months. If you do learn a software or something like that, at least you will feel better that you didn't waste your time. It by no means is a ticket to get a job, but at least you are doing something productive.

Cheers!

fku2: ...and i said it was funny. true that our attention whore AquillatheNun was is to keep him occupied because he’s bored out of his mind but he wanted to hear things that could help find him a job and not keep him mentally busy. Things too keep him busy would have been go to the museum, read a good book, watch an entire season on dvd, but he needs a job and was pretty vague about it, so anything goes. So if he had said, what type of car should I buy, learn digital project would have been similar to “go buy those giant fuzzy dices for the car”.

Btw, I do know digital project and as well as catia for the past 10 years.

yeah, well, to be honest, I was using the suggestion a bit more euphemistically. Snark overdose.

Bronzino at the Met? Tickets on me.

do you really think, under any circumstances we would share a job lead with you? are you delusional as well as annoying? if we had job leads. IF, don't you think we would network our real live friends into said opening????????? I'll tell you right now every murmur of a potential job opening i funnel directly to my FRIENDS...not some bored archinect poster blowing up every post all the time....my dos cents.

I keep hearing from everyone that it’s difficult to find a job even after being unsuccessful for more than a year. Don’t you think it’s time to grab whatever you can find until something better pops along? Or is that beneath everyone? Or is stuffing envelopes at home not good enough?

Abercrombie is hiring models. all you do is stand by the door with your shirt off and soak yourself in their brand of cologne.
