Hello guys, I want to describe the situation and to ask for an advice.
I have a 5-year BArch degree from an ukranian uni. Though education was not really that strong neither in technical area neither in design and creativity due to very conservative tutors and rather weird educational system in general.
To be "up-to-date" it's not enough at all and that's why I'm looking for MArch programms abroad to recieve additional knowledge in general design with technical aspects, to broaden creative mind and to be in a competitive enviroment. I need it like an air.
So do you think whether it's really worth to try to obtain 2 MArch programms where one of them will be more focused on classics (TU Delft/ETH Zurich) and after something more focused on contemporary methods (IAAC, AA, etc)? Or are there sm programms that combine them both?
___
And another question rises again and again but unfortunately there was no direct answer concerning the quality of MArch (Part 2) programms at:
-London MET
-Kingston University
-University of East London
I know students from these uni's several times have received some awards but actually it doesn't often mean that the school itself is great!?
___
Any feedback would be great. Btw US just now is not a choice now because I didn't have time to prepare and pass GRE/TOEFL.
I think the point of grad school should be specialization, especially since you already have a B-Arch. You should ask yourself more seriously what you want to do after graduation. Two MArch's seems excessive and redundant to me, and as you already have what you describe as a tradtional degree, I'd go for something more contemporary. The schools that interest me the most are the ones that synthesize theory and practice. AA might be a good choice, but there's many facets to the AA [design reseach lab, housing and urbanism, et al]. I wouldn't rule out Sci-Arc or MIT or Yale either at this point.
