He's coming to Boston, and i'm considering doing the one-day seminar. wondering if any of you have done it and if a full day with 'the leonardo da vinci of data' [!] is worth it.
I've done it. It's a pretty good experience. Be prepared for a hotel ballroom with about 300-400 people in it, though. He basically uses his books (of which you get free copies when you check-in) as teaching tools. He walks you through all of his major ideas over the course of the day.
Q&A was pretty limited; I think he fielded questions during lunch break and during a designated "book signing period."
If you don't have copies of the 4 books, then the fact that you get them free makes the seminar worthwhile.
If you check his web site he does seminars all over the US, not just in NYC and Boston (where I attended the course).
anyone done the Tufte seminar?
