I graduated from ASU with my 4 year degree in architecture. I am looking into grad schools and more recently into grad schools overseas (preferably the UK or possibly Australia). I have seen some posts about AA but do any of you have any other recommendations for grad schools. Also how does it work as far as licensing here in the US?
I know I will get a bunch of posts about doing a search to find my answers and I did, so don't waste your time posting it.
I think they are completely different as far as requirements for licensing, curriculum, etc. For the most part you might have to start over completely with undergrad overseas and then work your way back up to grad school. But the schools might all be completely different, just like they are within the US.
I would also recommend looking at NCARB's site. Becoming a licensed architect requires a NAAB-accredited degree, and if you received one overseas you'd have to go through an application / verification process to see if it meets the requirements.
I think a safer choice would be finding a program in the US that has a study abroad program that you want to do. Sometimes you can even study abroad for a year or longer, but still get a US degree.
