M. Arch programs in Chicago

Photoshopper

I am planning to apply the schools in Chicago only because I have to move there next year (personal reason).

I am wondering anyone can give me some advices about applying IIT, SAIC and UIC. What kind of portfolio are they looking for? Or, anyone is interested in those programs.

Also, I haven't seen any post about SAIC for more than one year. I would like to know more about this program. It seems like a small program but SAIC has very strong art reputation.

Thanks!

Rather than rely on posts to this discussion, may I suggest you contact each program directly about their program and what they look for in candidates and portfolios.

Having worked at IIT, I can share that the three programs are quite different and warrants visits to each if possible.

Best!

Dr. Architecture. Thanks for advice. I am trying to go to Chicago again in December. I will arrange to visit schools. I actually contacted SAIC before. The only thing they told me they look for someone who is creative and they can see it from portfolio.

As the comments you received were not extremely helpful, may I suggest you contact them again and ask to speak with the director of the program, Anders Nereim.

Also, you may wish to consult the book, Portfolio Design by Harold Linton. It is also on the website -- www.portfoliodesign.com --.
