Hey guys! I just recently graduated with a BED and I'm taking a year off to prepare for grad school and I've been working on my portfolio. Any advice, words of wisdom, and/or recommendations on anything in the portfolio would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
text:
-the text looks a bit large if it's formatted for 8.5x11
-i'd choose one text color, since there are only 4 projects i wouldnt worry about them using the color as a sort of way-finding device.
-if english is not your 1st language I would give it to someone to proof read. use correct grammar and proper english and check for typos (i.e. their instead of "there")
images:
-remove photos of projects thought to be influential to your design (1st project)
-eliminate photos/model shots that show the model from the same view
The text is a bit heavy. Could you keep all text the same color and maybe a bit smaller? Especially on the cover, bump that shit way down.
You could also justify your text so that all the lines of the paragraphs end at the same place, like in a newspaper (sorry I know there is a proper term for this type of justification, but I forgot it.) This will force you think of the text like a block or an element on the page with stronger boundaries and a greater presence.
On the screen, the lack of boarders might be ok, but when printed it will most likely look sloppy. Give yourself some space, maybe .5 to .75 of an inch around your pages. This will give both your eye and your brain some breathing room.
I would also put the photographs and sketches on their own separate pages. It will put more emphasis on each of them, and maybe make viewers appreciate them more.
All of this is just my opinion though; I am no pro at this stuff either, it is tricky.
Thanks guys. I will definitely make those adjustments and test em out. If you guys have any other advice keep shooting. I know its far from perfect and any little bit of advice helps me. Also what do you guys think of the projects within my project?

Heres the link to access my portfolio, and I must say that it is still pretty rough.
