I've seen some good posts on diagramming and some pretty interesting links to mapping.. although in the sense of mapping intensities and relationships of a site is harder to come by; for example, how could we map surveillance of a site to include not the physical objects and subjects of surveillance but a mapping of how this surveillance affects the social space of the site?
I'd like to see if anyone out there has some good ideogram(ming) examples. My studio project is dealing with this idea of mapping (as James Corner would describe) as unfolding the complexities within the site, and then using ideogramming to explore how types interaction could be instigated and what new programs could support these findings.
I find this topic extremely fascinating and would love to see work other people are doing/know of in this field...
Anyone? Anyone? Most of what I know of for good examples comes from Rem. Which is cool, but it would be cooler if more people were doing them... maybe this is just a dead discussion from the beginning.
Look at some of Edward Tufte's books on diagrams and the display of information. Also, I love to look at the graphs posted by good magazine every Tuesday. There are some great ones in there. Perhaps not as complex as what you are looking for, but a nice starting point.
