Is this an accessible detail in terms of maintenance (like coping) or a hidden (rain screen wall) type application?
Class I anodized coating is almost twice as thick as Class II, but unfortunately sea salt will cause pitting in thin aluminum sheet that will lead to perforation (of either Class).
As el jeffe mentioned - copper (or nickel/copper alloy), hot dip galvanizing (properly painted will add 1.5x to 2x to the lifespan), or zinc sheet will weather fairly well.
What about duplex stainless steel or titanium... if you can afford it.
Make sure you pay attention to the galvanic series relationships of various metals in sea water when choosing fasteners, etc.
I'm working on spec for sheet metal flashing and trims, so looking at what I could specify for pre-fin elements (mtl wrap, 22 ga flashing, metal panels)

Looking for type of finish for Extreme Weather metal flashing??
I am wondering what type of finish would be best for metal flashing detail at a location next to the Pacific Ocean?
Powder Finish? What ingredients?
Thanks!
not powder coated - one scratch and it's game over. can't field touch-up either.
class II anodized or heavy galvanizing or copper.
