any thoughts? think it's even possible? I would like to believe CBS and the university verified the feasibility before they turned it into a press event, but it seems to me just getting the concrete into that big of a machine, with that long of a hose, would be challenging. i'm quite interested to see a prototype big enough to build a 2 story house that actually works.
This technology is a few years old and yes it works. It's not cost effective, yet. It's the same as Sci-ARCs brick stacking robots. It will take a long time before one robot or printer will be cheaper than skilled/unskilled labor.
another 3d printing thread
this guy at USC says he can make a 3d printer that spits out concrete and can build a house
