Essential Equipment?

farwest1

Let's say you had $6,000 to spend on architectural equipment, not including computers, monitors, or software.

What would you buy? Anyone use an Intuos tablet? Are there inexpensive laser cutters or 3D printers out there?

I'm looking for ideas....

You can find places to use a laser cutter for free, even a three-axis router in certain cities. I wouldn’t spend my precious 6G’s on that.

Tough question if you have to exclude computer/monitors/software. I would do either:

1). Nikon D300s
2). 24x36 color plotter
3). 6k worth of books
4). Moped (for commuting)
5). Trick out my office: new deck, chairs, tables, storage, pin-up space, paint

Is this for school? If so, I'd use it on alcohol and drugs, because when you are done with school and no job opportunities you can at least say you had fun and didn't waste all that money on arch. crap!
