thedudeabides

Does anyone know of a good art/ architecture/ design bookstore in philadelphia? I'm looking for a shop that sells some good (and sometimes hard to find) magazines like Mark, Pin-Up, Volume, etc... thanks!

I don't know of any stores..but you have to drop so much money at a place like that regardless ie. William Stout in San Francisco. You are best off getting into the Fine Arts Library at Penn and you will have access to it all.

Try Avril 50 on Sansom St near 34th St. Great selection and great coffee.

I second both Avril and Joseph Fox.

Avril is good for periodicals, but not so much for the box. The coffee is probably the best in that part of Philadelphia.

Joseph Fox has an amazing selection. One of the better stores in the US, I would wager.

There's an AIA Bookstore at 1218 Arch (https://www.aiabookstore.com).

I'm don't know about their magazine selection , but it doesn't hurt to check. I do agree that the Fine Arts Library at Penn has it all.
