I have a memory of reading that Mies once created a full scale fabric mock-up of a villa to illustrate the massing to a client. However, I can't seem to find any images or remember where I read it. Anybody?
It was the project he inherited from his ex-boss Peter Behrens. The woman had an incredible art collection. Her name was Helene Kroller-Muller.
It's discuused in a collection of essays about Mies:http://www.amazon.com/Mies-van-Rohe-Villas-Country/dp/0262200503
one blurry picture in s,m,l,xl
and an even better article by rem in the 'any' magazine series once upon a time. it's a crazy thing to see the photos of it.
Great. Thanks everybody.
