"the heavier the load, the more dense the structure, either spatially or member size."
You must mean visually, on the exterior skin, and to a unique geometry because it is actually common for it to be done by member size and by spacing. Its just usually not on the exterior and with most symmetrical or "regular" geometry, you probably don't realize it.
responsive structural density (or destiny)
hey y'all
i am looking for precedents of structural organization that responds to loads....
the heavier the load, the more dense the structure, either spatially or member size.
the most obvious example is gothic cathedrals, but i am looking for more recent examples, like the CCTV tower.
any links, images or otherwise would be awesome!
thanks!
