1 yr of a 5 yr BArch after a 4 yr BS in Architecture?

thrive

Anyone ever heard of getting a BS (majoring in Architecture) at a non accredited school and then after getting/upgrading to a BArch by attending the 5th year of some other school's 4+1 program?

I really want to get going with IDP, but not wait another 2+ years to do a normal MArch degree. In effect "transferring" to get a full degree ASAP would be awesome but I have no idea if it's ever done.

I only found out the meaning of a non-accredited architecture degree second semester senior year :-P Worked for 9 months after graduation and then was laid off at the end of March and am now trying to figure out what to do next.

There are only a few programs that offer the one year BArch for those that have a preprofessional degree.

Check out Univ. of North Carolina at Charlotte. Rice has such a program but it is only open to students from Rice.

Visit www.naab.org and www.archschools.org to search other possible programs.

Hi Dr. Architecture. Thanks for your suggestions.

I took a look at UNCC's website and it seems like there might be some potential. Do you have any experience with the school or know any more about their program(s)?

I have no direct experience with the program, but know that the program is worthy of more research.
