UH Design Studio Wins International Design Competition

ichweiB

From the Dean's faculty email annoucement:

COLLEAGUES, I am especially pleased to let you know that Joe Meppelink,
Andrew Vrana, and Guest Critic Scott Marble, along with their studio
students and Joe's and Andrew's seminar students for SPR 2008 have been
awarded the 1st place in the AA / FAB international design competition in
the "Interiors" category.

Their project, a "ceiling cloud" that will be permanently installed in our
new first floor jury space (in the old shop), is front and center on the
AA's digital fabfication site website (www.aa-fab.net). Their winning
project placed ahead of some very notable figures in computational design
and digital fabrication.

Please join me in congratulating JOE, ANDREW and SCOTT for this significant
accomplishment!

It is nice to see the shop being used for something. It was abandoned when I was there in 1993.
