Absolutely one of the funniest shows on TV right now, on par with the office. Season 2 I believe focuses a lot on Ted Mosby: Architect, including one episode where they prove that it works great as a pickup line at bars. Hysterical.
one episode, i think the same one with the pick up line, Ted Mosby, Architect, features him designing a scheme thats more succesful than his boss', which, apparently, has male parts features
I've only watched it a few times but did catch an episode where he discovers there is a porn star using his name. He confronts him and finds out it's someone from his high school that idolized him.
At the end, unknown to Ted, the porn star makes a film:

i love that show
not really for Ted and him being an architect, as his charactor is somewhat annoying
but did you see the one where Barney's firm asked him to design their "firing" office
he was brought to a room on one floor and the boss said he wants this exact room, only 2 floors up
so he wanted him to basically copy everything exactly in that one room and move it up 2 floors
so Ted decides to go with very "designy" and "meditative" room ideas to have the whole thing be an "experience"
the boss pretends to love it and asks Ted to join him in the original room to sign the contract, but he just brought him in there to yell at him and fire him
it has some very stereotypical "architect" moments in the show that probably never are applied to actual architects, mainly just arch students who are a bit full of themselves and have read the Fountainhead one too many times
I watched the show last night, for the first time in a few months, still as funny as i remember it.
Love Barney...
200 does seem a bit high for # of sex partners though.

I was so glad to see this as the top rated comedy on dvdcollects. I have heard a lot about Two and A Half Men being the #1 comedy in the ratings for several years, and I feel How I Met Your Mother Seasons 1-4 DVD Boxset is far superior. The characters are interesting, the writing is clever, and I love the way some jokes reappear in future episodes (e.g. the slap bet; Robin being a former Canadian pop star). Barney is one of the best characters on TV and Neil Patrick Harris is as awesome as the character claims to be. This is another one of the few shows that my husband and I agree on.

so... apparently the main character (ted) on this show is an architect - I missed the past two episodes that focused on his job.
just wondering if anyone else caught these episodes and what they thought.

Sounds like reality TV to me.

ah - so that's where "ted mosby - sex architect" came from! I just started watching this show off and on last season...
you all need to watch the episode with SVEN in it.... a firm that initially beats out Ted's firm for a bldg...

tonight's episode ted had to make a restaurant shaped like a cowboy hat. completely improbable "first-big-commission," IMO...
the level of whoring he was doing seemed about right, though.
