How long should studio presentations be? Ours are roughly 5 min. Normal? Ive dumped weeks into this thing...5 min cant even cover my existing conditions analysis or project background....
I've had to boil down 50+ 36"x24" boards created throughout the semester into a 5 minute presentation. It was actually a good thing since it made sure that I was concise. The thing that helped me the most was sketching out a simple outline of the important points. Working from there I created a storyboard in my sketchbook of what I wanted my boards to look like to aid in explaining. Use your time wisely - you should be able to explain existing conditions & analysis in the first minute.
I think it is really helpful to figure out what you are trying to convey early on and working towards that, rather than just producing things and then cutting them down to fit.
5 minutes for the presentation is par for the course. You then can drive the discussion in the direction you want and use the rest of your work to strengthen your initial 5 minute introduction.

From my experience. Most are about 5-10 min of presentation and 30-60 of discussion.
