I get tired enough after a day of modelling - imagine what it would be like after this tech. Or perhaps invision the arm muscles architects would have. No more need for the gym
I liked it, but, i felt a little weird at the end of it, on the one hand, this is almost what we do, and on the other, im not comfortable with the idea of creating whole scenes out of the blue
pretty...butwhat i find strange is that this is supposed to be a "strange man", he ends up building a typical eurocentric vision (couple it with the romance of it).
the people behind this clip had the opportunity to produce anything, and they end up reproducing a quaint scene..that no different from spielberg's AI film. "strange man"..not. just another figment of porn-romance.
This has already been posted. The better question is why do you need this level of modeling?
Another WASPy dream about total control of an environment by a single person... seems perfectly acceptable. *gag*
On the other hand, technology that would be this sophisticated would probably eliminate humans altogether. It drives the question of whether or not or society has enough sustainable energy to waste on such bullshit endeavors. We can't guarantee our technocratic circlejerk of a society past two to three decades.
"Another WASPy dream about total control of an environment by a single person"
single person or a group of ppl, same thing, the problem i find is the simultaneity of the fact, not the decisions made, neither the control..
and, no, i dont think technology sophisticated like this would eliminate ppl alltogether, technology is ALWAYS sophisticated when it first emerges,, the computer did not eliminate many of the things ppl thought it would,, u know wat i mean? sure, some things become obsolete, but, ppl wont ever become obsolete
Well a technology like this, one this intuitive would have to require an AI drive because the program seems to make predictions.
Once you birth AI, you kind of negate having a user as the computer and the user become the same entity. There's a futurist prediction that once AI comes to life that we will enter a point of a "technological singularity" meaning that all individuals will rapidly become synched to a certain volume of thinking.
On a cosmic timeline, only machine intelligence would be of significant importance as us flesh bags tend to be highly irrational.
what ur saying has merit, but, i really cant imagine it happening, i guess i have unbounded faith in our irrationality to find AI insignificant the moment it starts to render us obsolete.. we'll figure something out,,
atleast i was right, there is something disturbing about the video
Something Magical yet disturbing
why disturbing?
yeah i dont get it, awesome, visionary movie, but disturbing?

its disturbing becos this is what we do everyday, n we fall into the abyss of being in love with our creation, thinking that it is a living being...
there is a baroque painting bringing the same msg, about a sculptor who kiss his own sculpture of venus... forgot the name, anyone knows?
aspect, I think you mean the myth of Pygmalion and Galatea?

there's a difference between AI and sentient computers
