I am trying to find information of furniture planning in the 18th / 17th century... how it was used as a social device, a way to stimulate dialogue, etc. Is there a term that is used to describe this? For example, the relationships between chairs and sofas, and how they are arranged according to different rooms/settings or in order to generate social atmospheres, like a French salon or something.
