I was let go from my company, and no longer have access to AutoCAD. I'm looking to pick up some free lance work (small projects), and am looking for somewhere in L.A. that I might be able to sit at a computer and either pay hourly/weekly/monthly to use AutoCAD, since 1. I am a MAC user at home and 2. I can't afford a license anyways. Has anyone ever heard of a place where I could do this? I would prefer not to sign up for a learning class - I just want to be able to sit down in front of the program and do my own thing.

all 99% compatible to autocad
2 are free, why would anybody be dependent on autocad anylonger, sure you can get it for free like said above but when it is so bloated buggy and inferior , why

why not enroll in a basic cad class with lab hours at your local community college.

Is it an Intel Mac?

ya every new mac does best to have a PC side with bootcamp or similar
I find it hilarious that you "need" Autocad in order to do architecture.
What happened to paper and pencil? What about a really cheap drafting program? Getting the ideas across is what is important.
BricsCad is 99% identical to Autocad LT and is 300 clams.

because sometimes consultants do weird things....
good to have autocad as a back-up just in case
AutoCAD is for the weak. Learn Vectorworks (only takes a few days to learn, seriously.) And the drawings always look better than ACAD.
Otherwise, use bootcamp on Mac, install windows, and run ACAD that way. ACAD runs better on an Intel Mac anyway.
