I got an email that at first I thought might be a big joke because it didn't seem very official, but then I checked my mail and saw they sent me "the big envelope."
No, I haven't made a decision yet because I'm still waiting to hear back from some places. However I like that Penn is only 2 semesters, so I am leaning towards going there.
I am waiting for GSD and SCI-Arc, I was hoping I would find out this week, but it doesn't seem that way.
I plan on going to the open house. I'm in Boston, but was going to see family in NJ around that time anyway, so I'm just rolling everything into 1 trip. Where are you, mcho?
Im waiting for GSD as well. I think i.5yrs at Harvard would be the perfect duration for a MArchII course.
Ha. Im in Melbourne Australia and it's 1am in the morning. If I was to attend the open house Id have to take a week off work and 2k just on the air fare. It would be a good trip checking out the campus and possibly look for accomodation. we'll see
Hey, is anyone else here thinking of going to the Yale MArchII Open House? I got into the MArchII in Yale, MIT and Columbia; rejected by princeton; waitlisted by Cooper Union... and haven't heard anything from GSD. I heard on another thread that Harvard had not yet sent out all their MArchII acceptances yet though so there's still hope!
I just got a letter from the GSD, rejected from MAUD.
mcho, going to the open house sounds like more trouble than it's worth in your case. I was planning on bringing a camera and trying to grab some photos of the school and potential places to live near campus, I'd be happy to share them with you.
Newport, it was to Yale but I didn't even take my application that seriously. I thought I was going to get a job about the time I applied.
The only reason i applied in the first place was pretty much that I could go to Yale on a 'discount.' It would cost me the same out of pocket to go to UF (closest arch/planning program) or Yale due to financial aid and loans.
I didn't even notice that this was the M.ARCH II thread.
I should point out that I didn't really get rejected as I haven't received a letter or anything. But I'm not expecting to at all because i totally bombed it.
Yeah, I just had to show my parents I was applying myself in some way and not chasing down free beer nights at hipster bars.
Other than the expense thing, the second reason I chose Yale was most [at least the professor profiles I've seen] all have a lot of urban planning experience.
All right guys, I waited to a point where I had to do something. So I called up Harvard today.
According to Gail, all the MarchII results have been sent out throughout the whole of last week. Depending on your location you should be expecting your results in the mail some time this week.
She'd also mention that about 30-40 ppl got admitted into MArchII program at the GSD this year and there has been a significant increase in the amount of applicant this year, roughly 30 percent.
I asked her more about when they notify their MArchII applicants and she said some admission results trickled out in mid march but because the school is apparently "going through so much changes" that they made most of their MArchII admission decisions by last week.
So there's still hope guys if you havent already heard from Harvard GSD. Fingers crossed!
Guys I have started up a facebook group for MArchII students attending/attended PennDesign. It would be a nice place to meet your peers and discuss about housing/professors/course/campus/philly/electives...

Rice (OPTION 3, three semester, with $$)
____________________________________________
I am considering these two. How do you think?
I hope to study computation. Even though I knew Penn faculty is nice for this. But, Rice is ambiguous a little.
Do you recommend?
i got rejected from the only place i applied! suhweet!
Karch, how did you get so much money from Penn?!
hey rockandhill, you mind if i asked you which school?
smarchitect:
Did you decide where you would go? I am curious that how post-professional studio is working.
do you have a idea?
No, I haven't made a decision yet because I'm still waiting to hear back from some places. However I like that Penn is only 2 semesters, so I am leaning towards going there.
Which schools are you waiting for smarchitect?
I just called Princeton about the application decision apparently they have sent them all out. The lady asked me to check my junkmail.
Am leaning towards saying yes to Penn's program as well. Is it worth going to the open house?
I am waiting for GSD and SCI-Arc, I was hoping I would find out this week, but it doesn't seem that way.
