goes to show you the true value of this old by standardized technology. and the new low barrier to legality.
I don't know about these guys, but I will rep a company I found through trying looking for CAD programs for Linux.Http://www.bricsys.com I have used their V6 for Linux, which ports through Wine, and their V9 for Windows, which actually ports through Wine too - and is phenomenal! While not a $50 trial deal, it is definitely a pro-quality CAD program at +/- a quarter the cost of AutoCAD. I must reiterate - V9 even through Wine into Linux - Very Slick!
yes they all use the same code from the Open Design Alliance. good stuff bricscad has a nice build i agree. Architecturals. ProgeCad too is another partner that does well also on linux too. 1/4 the cost ? i think autocad goes for 5500 internationally.
not trail. this is the base code of the newest 6.5 build of intellicad i believe next year the v7 stuff will be avail.
Has anyone used Briscad in a production environment? I've been toying with the idea of doing some freelance production work but don't want to cough up the loot for, and therefore support, Auto_desk.
and how is it as a modeling software... similar to Acad?
the exact same.
hmmm... me caresses goatee like an intellectual...
here is some more historical reference to caress that goatee over.http://www.cadinfo.net/icad/icadhis.htmhttp://www.icadsales.com/index.pl?iid=3104&isa=Category
and if you care to see the court case i feel autodesk is sure to loose vs the Open Design Alliance and Solidworks:http://www.cadcourt.com/
