help needed- non western regionalism, but in the modern tradition

cosmoe32

Hello out there-

I am starting to do some research on regional modernism- specifically focusing on non-western countries (perhaps Australia- Sean Godsell or Southwest America or Rick Joy may also fit the bill). I am looking for people like Geoffery Bawa or Barrigan. Modern architects, but whose work recognizably vernacular. The catch, I am looking for those that are contemporarily practicing and have more than one building under their belt. Also, the program type that I am studying is residential housing. The thing is that I don’t have much time- one day(!)- so something that is accessible on the internet would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

also if there have been previous postings on archinect related that you can point me to it would be appreciated.

and, while i understand what it is you're looking for, it would be better, for the sake of your research to be specific about what you want to analyze, what is "modern and vernacular", because, it can be extremely vague, you dont want a ballpark answer, you want to be clear. it would help your research and make the process richer
