Heifer whines could be human cries
Closer comes the screaming knife
This beautiful creature must die
This beautiful creature must die
A death for no reason
And death for no reason is murder
And the flesh you so fancifully fry
Is not succulent, tasty or kind
Its death for no reason
And death for no reason is murder
And the calf that you carve with a smile
Is murder
And the turkey you festively slice
Is murder
Do you know how animals die ?
Kitchen aromas arent very homely
Its not comforting, cheery or kind
Its sizzling blood and the unholy stench
Of murder
Its not natural, normal or kind
The flesh you so fancifully fry
The meat in your mouth
As you savour the flavour
Of murder
No, no, no, its murder
No, no, no, its murder
Oh ... and who hears when animals cry ?
but is it cholesterol? i stick to a 0 cholesterol diet for a reason, my body (all bodies) makes it's own and adding external sources would make me no longer have a perfect level.
True Dat Beta! With so many tasty meat alternatives such as quorn, one can get all the meaty-type satisfaction they crave without actually taking a life. The countless number of senseless murders of animals says far more about our civilization than I think we realize.
Go Veggie my friends! You don't need the meat, I promise. In fact, I think you will be shocked by how little your life changes when you go vegetarian. And the changes that do come are all positive.
I have been veg all my life (first 7 years raw(uncooked) foods). I will donate my body to science to prove the culture of unnecessary death wrong unhealthy and unsustainable
okay this will sound totally lame but I've never met anyone who was raised vegetarian, also I have no idea what quorn is? Doesn't sound natural and makes me wonder about the longer term effects.
Things I don't put in my body: hamsters, sugar and I gave up soy after living on it for a year <- that shit will KILL you.
I'm not as keen on meat as I was when I was younger, the last 7 years my diet has been about 10% meat (but I gained 35lbs in that time) - my digestion never got used to alternate protein kinds.
I would give me body up to science, but why give a bunch of folks in lab coats a laugh
I will however get to a point where I will stop eating meat again, my mind wants it that way...let's see if I can get the rest of me to play ball
I used to eat meat at every meal and became a vegetarian about a year and a half ago...I don't miss any of it...ever...not even brad pitt.
I thought it'd be a problem going out to eat or going to someones house for dinner who doesn't know I am a vegetarian, but it never is. Veggies contain all the flavor anyway...
This [M]eat Is Not Murder

Don't Piss Off Morrissey!

I have a close friend who has been vegetarian for 18 years. She says to this day the only meat she really, really misses is this one.
I've been vegetarian for over a year, and the only meat I miss is this one...

mycoprotein, i.e. Quorn is fungi = mushrooms. how much more natural can you get?
looks delish.
I much prefer eating grass than things trying to be meat.
same here. I personally will only have soy in sauce form.
hey, apu, lots of soy stuff doesn't pretend to be meat, i.e. most tofu. can be delicious. you can even put meat on your tofu like they do in china!
Oh yeah, and tofu form, I forgot it was soy for a second.
i prefer eating things other than things that eat grass. i like tofu too, but tofu can be hazardous if too much is consumed.
vegetables have 8% protein, that is ideal
trace™ you still too?
5000 year staple diet of the genocided Inca.
damn, that carb intake is a bit much.
any external cholesterol source not carbs (exercise?) are the problem, also healthy fats (those not of animal source) with omega 3's.
but as you can see Q. is a lower in carbs than other's and higher in protein while also having as much if not more (absorbable) calcium than milk.

Quorn, and to add Morning Star, pretty much rock.
Seitan
seitan is great too, a hearty texture, and when mixed with some of the right noodles and sauce, great!
