As we are witnessing one of the worst financial crisis of this century, i am interested to hear any insider stories from architects working in the big firms, specifically the firms that are working on overseas projects in booming regions like the middle east, China and Russia.
How hard do you think it is for a smaller international firm to find work abroad? We are a smaller firm with two architects in America and a couple in Europe and we want to focus our advertising and publicity in the most likely place to find good projects.
Are there any other firms out there who are small that are still able to find work outside their home country?

China will soon, like the rest of us, assume the position.
However, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain still seem to be good, as does Abu Dhabi.
