Greetings y'all.
I recently graduated from Haverford College BA in political science. I did some soul searching the past few months and decided to pursue a masters of Architecture. Since my bachelors isn't architecturally specific, I need to play catch-up.
my questions are these:
1. what suggestions to you have for me concerning courses that are absolutely essential for my pursuit? I already have college level calc, am in physics 101, and plan to take studio/drawing and architectural history next semester.
2. I'd like to study in Europe or Canada, as schools there are cutting edge and significantly cheaper than their American counterparts. What Masters programs in Europe are taught in English and do not require a BArch?
few design schools (i dare say NONE) would let you do a masters in architecture without any prior creative/design background...
unless of course it's something you pursued as a personal interest and have a substantial portfolio of design stuff....
I just finished my first week of m.arch, and it's hard to explain except that architecture school breaks you down and then builds you back up. Take oldfogey's advice and get used to sketching a lot...all the time. I've already burned through a shit load of sketch paper for my first studio assignment.
oldfogey- first thnx for the post - I think it's interesting you mentioned music, is that something that should be included in an ap. or just for personal enrichment? I've been learning & writing & almost put it in the portfolio but held off - it's amateur stuff (little formal training, lotsa love :) )
MArch/ Grad school advice for the newjack

Peace :)

lots of folks get in without an intense formal design background.
ps searching threads is helpful/boring.
