Just looking for some general advice really regarding presentation style section drawings.
I've had some success on a small discrete scale with rendering Sketchup apartment models in Maxwell. What I'd like to do though is render a whole section, i.e a 1:100 drawing of an 85m apartment block.
My method has been (standard I guess?) to generate a simple section outline in Vectorworks, export it as a dwg into Sketchup. From here, lift it up vertically and draw planes off the back of the associated section drawing planes adding walls from here to provide the room depth.
Would I be right in thinking that I would simply set a high resolution in Maxwell once the whole section is within the viewport to achieve the desired result?
Sorry if this sounds confusing but I think it should make sense?
I'd just like quite quickly to get a nice section for my scheme I suppose but not totally sure on the most efficient way to do this within Maxwell.
just model your complete building--maxwell has a z-clip option for the camera which can be used to cut through the model and still provide accurate lighting/shadows. You just need to set a very high mm lens (10000mm or so) so that you lose some of the perspective and get more of an orthographic view
