appears to have been set into a stainless frame to make a panel, kurt. maybe sorta like gehry's handling of the brick at the vontz center in cincinnati? but, no, i don't know any more about it.
If memory serves, that project is actually bricks mounted in a frame, he used terra cotta on the Alexander Plaz project.
Tiling implies a grid or repetitive patterns. This tiled facade by auguste perret goes against the typology because he didn't predetermine a pattern. He gave his tilers some petal shaped tiles, and some circles and asked them to to something floral with them. The result is varied, looser and more tactile.
the foa penrose tiling vis-a-vis perret's is really intriguing, thanks
Charles Walker has done something not-facade, but not structure

A good company to look at is Heath Tiles in California. They do nice stuff, and they're the sort of company you can work with to develop bespoke sollutions for shape, size, finish ...etc.
