A laptop - not too heavy, hopefully 5-6 lbs
15" or 17" screen
Easy use of Skype video so built in camera
Wifi
Fairly speedy with software like AutoCAD & Sketchup
Ability to do powerpoint slide shows to a projector
up to $2000 ok
hp.com if you're in the US...for same price as what you get in stores for older models, you get the very latest chip (T9300)
you can customize them to have exactly what you need...something along the lines of what you need at 15" should be doable under $1400 including taxes...
toshibadirect.com also good value, but less customization...
Laptop advice?

I don't think most of the better HP models have a camera built in?
How about Lenovo or Apple?
With that kind of budget, check out Asus and Sage notebooks. Also, go to www.notebookreview.com There's plenty of information there for you.
btw, there's no such thing as 17" desktop replacement around or below 6lbs.
get a Tablet PC is my advise
