I've been using the plot stamp feature in autocad to keep the multitude of sheets on my desk in order....(and because the boss likes EVERYTHING to be dated...but he don't like the time being shown)
Does anyone know of a way to have only the date, and not the time printed?
The only way I could figure to do it thus far was to play with the x offset and just push the time off the edge of the page. I don't think though this is the best and only solution.
at commandtype in
mtext (then type whatever you want, for example "DATE")
right click next to the word DATE, "insert field"
scroll down to plotdate and select a format.
you'll notice a grey ---- field.
press plot, and you'll notice it will change to the date when its plotted.
You can also use just "date" from the field selection list. Depending on the number of users and their level of experience, you might want to put this on a 'locked' layer to help prevent users from changing the field back into mtext.

Can you put the time portion in a different 'no plot' pen weight?
Use a "Field" instead of the plot stamp (available 2005 and later).
I'll give a field a shot....I can never seeem to figure em out though. any tips?
