Has anybody been enrolling this or obtained this degree before? I was wandering how is the program really like. From their webiste, it was said:
The SCIFI program is a three-consecutive semester program that centers on the studio experience. The studio course serves as the primary platform for learning and discussions. A unique aspect of the studio experience is that students travel to the city/country of study to meet with politicians, planners and architects to gain a fuller understanding of globalization's impact on urban development. Each semester, the studio is complemented by a series of workshops led by visiting architects, urban thinkers, economists, and media designers from the US, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
It looks nice. But I still want to know more about it. I am wandering if this is a good choice for learning urban design? or something else? Besides, the tution fee for this one is about 10k per semester, expensive....
You might want to try emailing the admissions office at SCI_Arc (email address should be available on their website) and ask them if they can forward your question on to the student union who should be able to route this to someone currently in the SCI_FI program.
I would help if I could but I graduated from the March2 and can only offer very little in casual observation as the SCI_FI program tends to be very much separated from the remainder of the school, both in studio space, classes and reviews. About all I know is they went to India and Dubai and the students tend to be older. However the admissions office is usual pretty good about responding to emails and making sure you get the information you need since clearly no one an archinect is offering anything.
See if you can get in touch with a student as well. The faculty is great, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it's best to get the perspectives of the people actually doing the program versus the people who are teaching the program.
