The 9650 is good and The all in one units are Great (2410) I think
It is fast, great image and cheap.., only downside small ink cart.

How are the Lexmark printers? I've heard that they reduced their prices on the ink carts by 35%. It's something to factor in when shopping around... but is the print quality worth it?

it seems the HP seems to have all around greater print quality - the carts are up in price however heard they hold together for the refill

hp1220c, best machine for the money. 13x19 full color, pretty fast on normal and nice quality on best. Extra bonus uses same black carts as our plotters.

christopher, have to give me some credit for trying...you never know when you will need that $ [less shipping and handling of course] its a nice machine...cant part with it.

hps are work horses but patience brings epson quality. hps big...bulky and not pretty to look at. although design-g-g is right about lemax reducing there prices by 35% they were always 50% above everyone else so they march on closer.

she is correct....really check the cartriges and no.-o-prints if you are a tight squeezed.

i had 3 different HP printers last 3 years...they r just not up to the rythm i use printers (as for architectural and graphical work) its good quality and also good speed, but, if ur looking for more durability skip HP, go with EPSON better...now i have a canon (not the best quality/definition available but was cheap)...lets see how much it lasts

The Epson 1280 It's so choice, if you have the means I highly recommend picking one up.

I like the 1280 - but one caveat: mine is wearing out after about 3 years, and I'm being advised by local repair people that it would be cheaper to buy a new one than to fix it.
Apparently the rollers eventually wear down slightly, and the paperfeed mechanism also lowers slightly over time, causing the paper feeding to get more and more temperamental.
Granted this has been in use to print up to several hundred pages per day everyday for 3 years.

The advantage to going through costco is that if you don't like it you can return it within one year, no questions asked. You can find it for less elsewhere, but being able to take it into any costco and get your money back is priceless!

I have a canon s9000, a generation old, but still pumping out great photos/presentations after using a combined 35 ink cartridges. 13x19 size as well. I believe the i9900 is the new version.

Got the HP 9650 for $299. It is really good in terms of quality. Cartridges seem to last a while too. Thanks for all of the advice in this thread - and all of the other printer threads as well.

I have am HP Photsmart 8150 and the thing runs like a dream. It is only 8.5 wide though, but it will take up to a 24" piece of paper. The print quality is excellent and the spead is nothing to frown at.

HEY i just recently bought the hp 9650 for $299 (regular price 400smackers) too and i am more than satisfied with the quality when i print on photo paper... i recommend it to everyone

in my exp... epsons tend to eat up ink somewhat quicker than HP's... though the quality i've seen is great. but HPs are a great value.

with good (see expensive) paper nowadays, most mid-range consumer inkjets put out images sweet enough for most basic uses.
