architechnophilia: that Morphosis housing in Madrid is wild!!!
There's no point in me linking to my own blog, since very little of it is about architecture...
Anyways, both these blogs have been added to a newly-created bookmarks folder called 'blogs' :-)
Thanks a lot Thom Yorke... I put a lot of time into the blog in hopes of it becoming a great resource for Revit and I think it is going in that direction. Believe it or not almost 45 percent of my traffic every day is from google searches.
I am sorry to say that archdaily is a shallow blog and everything is designed to increase the click count. It is a waste of time and comments are fit for yahoo news posts. Ditto for the boring interviews they publish. No position on anything whatsoever.
As far as the architecture specific sites go, there is nothing like Archinect which has the respect and following of the more intelligent architecture and design community. If Archinect is New York Times, archdaily is USA Today. Take your pick.
I agree that ArchDaily's posters don't make insightful comments, nor are the projects described very well (they have editing issues). But as a storehouse of projects, in all different phases, I don't know another comparable website.
In addition, they do not have a position or stance on anything because its purpose is simply to aggregate projects. It's not perfect, but the projects are posted with a variety of drawings - from renderings to diagrams to plans and sections to construction details. I think that's pretty awesome!
A little bit of self promotion. I plan on writing about everything from books I have read, buildings I have visited, what I'm doing in studio, various projects, etc...
Best Blogs?
What are the best blogs out there for architecture? I'm thinking news, current trends, cutting edge design/technique.
...other than archinect, of course (can archinect be considered a blog?)
with all the humility in the world
not the best one for sure but new and original one imho ;
