Looking at some amazing designs/images/films that are produced from the school, can anyone give me an idea of what kind of programs/softwares that are commonly used in that school?
definitely maya, rhino, 3dmax, pshop, etc but also would be good to know mel script, or rhinoscript or any other means to manipulate software. also GC is pretty big in the euroland right now.
sorry, but what is GC? I know scripting is used quite often in schools now. Which program would you suggust is a good starter program to learn? Wondering if there are any sites that I can look at with tutorials on scripting?

dont go.
maya, rhino, formz, 3dstudiomax, blender, after effects, photoshop, ilustrator.... pretty much everything except sketch up...
why shouldnt he go?
why except sketchup? any particular bias towards this program?
well, sketch models- real ones as it were are still used widely, so projects usually progress from physical models to more sophisticated software
