They probably wont get back to you unless you are going to be called for an interview. The length of time will vary entirely from year to year.

Have they specifically said 'No Phone Calls' on their page? If not, have you called them?

Haven't called them...

but NBBJ says they will send notification if accepted/rejected. Deadline was last week so I know it's prob too early but just wanted to get an idea how long I should wait.

It's been almost a month since I applied to Gensler so I'm assuming I got rejected.

It really depends on how many people they're looking at. Gensler was at UT Austin a few weeks ago and, along with all the other firms that were there, they were estimating about 6 weeks to get back to candidates. 

Gensler had many more people show interest so it may take a while longer. I would look into getting in contact with someone. All my professors told me to be aggressive by calling, emailing and talking to people whenever I can. 

I emailed the recruiter for P+W just days after talking to him, been in contact with different people at the office since then. Will it work? No idea but at least they're talking to me.

I applied for a summer internship in Chicago, I was turned down....:(

it took Gensler a week after the deadline for an interview and then i was hired... they're usually pretty fast

Keep in mind a larger Gensler office of roughly 300 people usually only brings in roughly 10 interns each summer from all around the country.  It's a very competitive process where many extraordinarily talanted people get turned down so don't take it personally at all.

When I was applying for internships I was turned down by them and eventually became an employee there down the road.

Good point med. I wasn't very interested in Gensler at the career fair but there were about 60 ppl who were. I think they were only looking to fill about 4 or 5 positions so it is def. very competitive. Especially considering the fact that they probably visited many more schools. 

If you haven't heard anything I wouldn't wait siting down. Get out there be aggressive and meet people. 

Gensler hires summer interns and interns every 4 months or so I hear.  Its much harder if you're just sending them a random email for internship compared to them hiring through your school's internship program process.  Timing is also the key.  You should apply months before the date you plan to start working but not too early as your portfolio might just be shoved aside.
