Awad models- located on 37th (I believe) Do many of KPF's plastic models

Kennedy Fabrications (http://www.kennedyfabrications.com/) - do good work, may be $$$$$$$

what kind of model are you looking for (site, bay, building, etc). What do you want it made out of. I dont know if schools are in session in NYC yet, but there may be some good model builders at one of the architecture schools (if they still build models in school).

If nothing else, you can get good results from laser cut pieces that are then assembled by intern.

Depends on who you are building models for, what kind of models, etc. The final presentation models for the WTC projects cost over
$1 million a piece. Granted, they were large, lit up, very detailed, and very complex forms.

I have found that architects tend to pay the least when wanting models built.....

if you are interested in model building for movies, check out

www.newdealstudios.com
www.cinefex.com

have to be damn good, but get to usually blow the models up at the end

If you haven't already found someone, I might be interested in building a model. I'm in New York and I'm a veteran model builder.
Just a thought.
