the questions don't really make sense as the answer is fairly apparent: there's as much work here than in any other similarly sized city, and to some degree moreso considering there are a few inter/national firms with offices here doing work all over the world (this includes HOK, the largest arch firm in the world, which is headquarted here and is always busy with work).
so what's the question really? is there work for good high-design minded architects here? are you really wanting to do larger housing projects?
in general archchich, you need to define for yourself and express what you're really looking for in order to get good answers to your questions (both here and in your other 2 posts). Do some research on your own first, then come back with real questions that have some meat to them.

St. Louis work
Any work for architects in St. Louis?
Is there a high demand for architects there?
Snore...
