aibd?

what is the aibd?  I have been seeing this around lately.  From what I have seen, they are mostly mcmansion designers...

it's like a Twilight Zone version of NCARB and the AIA…makes it seem like they're the only ones who do "building design".

I wonder how this is legal in states that strictly limit the language a non-licensed person can use to describe their role. The term "building designer" seems to be at odds with some states' laws.

no it's perfectly legal to call yourself a building designer.  They just do exempt work, which you do not need a license for anyway.  Most states do not rrequire an architect for residential or small commercial work.  I just don't understand why anyone would join something like this if they don't have to.  seems stupid and weird.
