CONVERTING CAD FILES

skilla

Hi everyone

What is a good software or program to convert CAD drawings in a JPEG or PNG file with good resolution, that I can put it in Photoshop to do some rendering work on it?

You can make CAD files into PDF's directly from cad if you have Acrobat Installed. Just select Adobe PDF as your plotter and plot to file (play with the settigns so you have a large resolution on that PDF). Then you can open that PDF in Photoshop and render away. That's how I did it in school.

open your cad file in Rhinoceros and:

" -ScreenCaptureToFile"

and you can pick your resolution (300 x 8.5 = 1650 for example)

You can also set up an eps driver in CAD. This will allow you to "print" to a vector file (.eps) which you can then open as a raster image at any resolution in Photoshop. No special software, drivers, etc. needed.
