I have grown quite tired of reading some of the threads that have filled this site, in particular the following:
1: Those that have 3,000 posts and feel as if they are some sort of GOD on this site that require worship.
2: Those that pothetically kiss the ass of the 3,000 post people for some ridiculous reason.
3: Those that are attending some "prestigious" school and feel as if anything other is a waste of time when in fact they are wasting their time and money on rediculous tuition for the same amount of education. And feel the authority to judge other schools based on heresay/ 1 hr visits/ and friend of a cousin of a roomate that attended.
4: The obnoxious people (usually of the 3,000 club) that constantly derail any signifigant conversation into some BS babble of nonsense...again and again and again.......
There are so many inappropriate assumptions, so many ignorant generalizations in your initial post that I honestly don't know where to begin. And frankly I don't have the energy right now, but I'd like to briefly mention a few things:
1) If you're going to insult a whole group of people, please do not distract us with your "pothetic" and "rediculous" spelling skills
2) The reason that some of us have a lot of posts is because we've been around for a long time and engaged in many thoughtful conversations, and have managed to do so while treating each other with respect and dignity in the process, even if we've never met. This skill apparently escapes you.
3) If you can definitively point out a situation where someone has either worshipped me or kissed my ass simply because I have over 3000 posts, by all means, do so.....I could use a date and a fan club is a good place to start
4) Nobody cares what or who annoys you. Nobody cares what or who annoys me either, but fortunately I'm friendly enough with everyone here that they just let me rant a little bit and then get on with my life. Good luck with that "friendly" part from now on, buddy.
WonderK just so you know One of my previous professors is a USC M Arch grad and will admit himself he is the worst speller on earth, and I have witnessed it first hand so even the $53K per year you are forking over doesn't seem to quite cover all the bases huh???
Then let me say I want more fancy graphics, more discussions where people are sharing not bragging or vorse bullying , even vorse, acting as they talk some secret private code in some arogant way.
I want to see impossible projects , nice pictures, I want to read a nice joke great humor and know the one hiding behind a fake name is not here to mark anyone or destroy what they can't understand . I also would like some relevant suggestions for new houses for those who lost their homes, and I want old saur hippie haters to get off this site.
Becaurse if this is architecture architecture has to change.
hate to say it sanfranarch, but we're all really at the mercy of the people creating the topics, usually that falls on newbies, and their topics (sadly like this one here) are about a.) grad schools b.) advice seeking or c.) inane bs rarely related to architecture.
also many of the architecture related topics posted have already been discussed here many many times before. now that doesn't give people an excuse to derail topics, but at the same time it's usually the heavy posters that keep these discussions going - for better, for worse. newbies are generally too timid to keep up a steady discussion.
but really it doesn't help anybody to call out a large number of people that contribute to this site. if anything, it will only make you look bad, and unfortunately, your screen name is getting a bit of a reputation for this.
4arch, I've been around longer than you and have even less comments. Impressive!
Sounds like sanfranarch is a little jealous he's not part of the archinect clique. I for one don't really care about the inside jokes, Thread Central, Fancy Graphic Lovers, etc. and don't comment about them. Thus, very few comments.
WonderK isn't right because she has more post than you SF, she's right because she's been around long enough to see the errors in your assumptions...and your spelling. Her pointing them out has nothing to do with her post count. It's nice that your professor is proud that he's a terrible speller, but still doesn't make it OK. If you want to be taken seriously, at least spell correctly. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR TYPO’S. Especially when typing.
The vast majority of the only people I have come across who complain about the banality of the posts and threads are people without very many posts. I can't count how many times people have helped with my questions in a prompt and courteous manner. And I thank them for it. When people come here for opinions about schools, money, tuition, jobs or towns, that's what they get...opinions. Opinions which are formed through whatever contact we may have with the situation.
I'd like to thank everyone who has had the patience to answer any questions I have had.
And it's "Architnecteurs".
Let me quote the wondrous mind of Mike Tyson; if you don't like the "turn off your station"
If you don't like the topics, start a topic that does interest you. I know I try to respect it when the person who starts a topic is still around and wants it to stay on subject. However, if someone posts a topic and then leaves, it's fair game for derailment, and it happens all too often.
"All to often" , what happen is that members start discussing a comment with perifere subject value, sometimes even to be able to point out that the other one "offtrack" many discussions . ------ I could reply that 3dh is in the same lead as some mentioned subject to explain that the world is not only upside down, and then someone ask one of the useal silli questions about 3dh that is so obvious that you shuldn't ask , this I take as a challance only becaurse if you don't understand that, then you has no experience with trivial other issues or any understanding about the subject and then, well then I sometimes uses 3dh to explain this other issue. Happen all the time.
Then this don't mean that the tread are offtracked at all, just that a simular or related issue are brought up to explain in same sentense as the original subject but, --- then those who asked how 3dh would be simular or related suddenly , after asking , claim I taken the tread off track, where the only thing I done, is to say like , "happen all the time with 3dh to ..... "
Also sorry to say but some discussions tend to be so so fame counting, that someone realy has to pull out the neon light plug.
though from the general direction this thread has taken (and all other threads like it; doesn't this happen about every other month?), there's definitely a bit of truth to what you're saying. the best advice i can give, if you choose to stick around, is to learn to live with it. this site generally does give, more than it takes.
SanFran, I figured out your problem. You forgot to close a tag on your first post. Looks like it's been stuck on ever since. Just include the following at the end of your next post:
i have anything really to say about SF post, BUT i think it is the humor and sidetracking (and occasional newbie bashing) that i enjoy the most about archinect.
i also enjoy the history, i have been reading it for a few years and active only more recently but i have fond memories of somethings that happened in the past.
eg.
souliket - classic, it went on and on and then finally she/he disappeared (or got accepted to aa)
when per made topic headings with animated gifs and seriously slowed things down.
my advice to SF is to just take it easy, relax, read and then if you really don't like what is on here - then fuck off.
Its nice how the painting above roughly coencides with what I percieve to be their actual ages. If I had to gues, I would put Mdler at around 26-32, and Vado closer to 42-52. Please don't stone me.

So knock it of morons.
ibizaclubbin is a great example of the #2 people that annoy the hell out of me with the 2008 M Arch(non Arch background) thread

you have both proven my 4th point, just as i expected
WonderK with your 1st point
and holz.box in general
well done.

you assumed this conversation would be relevant or significant.
slaving away for the red G
SFA9, you're being quite rude.

3000? Deification doesn't kick in until 8,000 posts...
I think maybe sanfranboy is trying to impress 870 with some sort of come on....about being above it all.
yawn

no comment
I did the same thing.
I guess this thread just makes you have shit on the brain.
paging silent disapproval robot, you have a call at the front desk.
I'll take on PB&J on my 3dh....and a soda to go!
oh...so sorry...I ment SOoo' DER!
hi tumbles
because posts about Weird Al being an architect are important...
then stop reading archinect, shithead
I don't have anything meaningful to add to this thread. I just want to get my post count up.
hi tyvek
Why are the adds at the top of this thread always about love and lovers?
Anybody else see the 'push my button hard' add?
I think he's been run out of town by this point. At least off this thread. Hi mdler, I think we met at WonderK's "I've finally made to LA" party.
tuna
do you go to UC?

Nope. Never did. But I live a couple blocks from it.
on the other hand, if defecation indeed doesn't kick in until 8,000 posts than that's some serious motivation to get your post count up..
yeeee-ouchh!
i'm holdin' it!
Good job Vado!

This looks vaguely like the post from SF9 last week about hows he thinks Harvard,MIT and Sci Arc students should waste their money.
looks like depravity and loneliness are the motivations here as well...
where is that incredible train wreck?
Vado giving life to Mdler, from
The Archinect Gospels, Genesis 25:13.

ahahaha, i think you're pretty close, sarah.
well i thought that portrayal was accurate mostly in terms of dress, what with mdler all buck naked and such.
